Healthy sweet snacks: what to eat when you're craving something sweet

“I really shouldn't be eating anything sweet.”
We'd love to delete this sentence from your vocabulary.
Because the better question is:
How can I put together something sweet so that it tastes good AND keeps me properly full?
An apple can be a wonderful snack.
If you're hungry again an hour later, it simply might not have been enough for you in that moment.
That's why at SHE we like a very simple formula:
Sweet + protein + fibre
For example:
Skyr + berries + nuts
or
Yogurt + apple + oats
or
Chia pudding + berries
Each component does a different job and turns “just something sweet” into a real snack.

Is fruit allowed in the evening?
Yes.
There's no magic time after which a strawberry suddenly changes its personality.
What matters more is the overall picture of your diet.
If you regularly get very hungry in the evening, though, a different question is worth asking:
Were you well nourished during the day?
Sometimes the supposed “sweet tooth in the evening” already starts with a lunch that was too small.
And what about chocolate?
Chocolate can be part of a balanced diet too.
We don't want to divide foods into “good” and “bad”.
What's more interesting is:
What happens if you don't eat something sweet only once you're completely famished?
Or if you combine it with something filling?
This can become a personal experiment.
Because a snack doesn't have to be perfect.
It should fit your life.
